After a customized assessment, our programs are tailored to the individual and typically explore the following areas:
Blindspots
Ever wonder where office nicknames come from? What colleagues might be saying about you when you leave the room? People are remarkably perceptive in seeing us for what we are, yet it’s hard to see ourselves as others do. Everyone has a blind spot – what others know about us that we can’t see ourselves. Many behaviors are so ingrained we remained unaware of them and these are the ones that can sabotage our success. This ‘blind spot’ is often the cause of lost career opportunities. Left too long, blind spots can stall or permanently derail a career.
Our program identifies and fixes those behaviors which can cause havoc in organizations and wreck careers.
Developing Influence and Persuasion
Leadership is a term in much use these days. Many people talk about leadership when they are actually referring to the ability to influence and persuade. Influence and persuasion constitute personal authority in action, and it’s becoming more important than ever before.
Hierarchies are becoming flatter. Leadership styles are becoming subtler. Fading fast is the power conferred by titles, force and coercion. Against all this, the soft skills of influence and persuasion are critical for effective leadership.
We explore the avenues which lead to influence, persuasion and presence. Based on the Lominger competencies, our step by step, interactive program builds the behaviors which lead to greater personal authority.
Confidence Conundrum
Confidence is the keystone of a successful of career. Most of us recognize the importance of having confidence, yet lurking behind many ineffective behaviors are confidence issues. Left unaddressed, these confidence issues often morph into other destructive compensatory behaviors that undermine both the individual and the group. Many coaching and aspirational books propose confidence cures, but there are no short cuts. Confidence issues did not arise overnight and won’t be resolved quickly, nor easily, by an individual on his/her own. We have found that the best results are achieved through direct 1:1 coaching.
The PEMBRIDGE TECHNIQUETM is our proprietary diagnostic tool designed to identify the root cause of confidence issues, allowing for greater insight and clarity which means better behavioral responses.
How confident are you?
Competition and Collaboration
The way you compete says a lot about who you are and if you’ll succeed. The ancient Greeks recognized and valued honor as an ideal which benefited not only the individual but also the community. The Oxford English dictionary defines the Greek word philotimia as the ‘love of honor’, a concept which ennobles the act of competition, seen at its best in the ancient Olympic games.
Collaboration is the way of the future, yet very little is ever discussed about the most fundamental aspect of working successfully with others: fair competition. Most leadership programs focus on the expedient of the ‘what’ not the ‘how’, but success is a combination of both. Corporate life often brings out the worst competitive traits. What good are your excellent technical skills if people don’t want to work with you? It’s popular to talk about ‘leaning in’, but what happens when you lean in the wrong way? Being seen as a fair competitor shows respect for colleagues and brings a host of collateral benefits which elevates both the individual and the group. Behaving with Integrity and enjoying the respect of peers and colleagues never goes out of style. Groups who promote clean competition are more productive, collaborative and fun to work in.

Social Intelligence
Navigating the world of nuanced interpersonal relationships is a critical skill for leaders in today’s technology - focused communications which place immediacy above human interaction. Ironically, as technology pushes us away from direct human contact, the need for ‘soft skills’ is growing. We all respond better when we feel like we matter. Social intelligence combines Emotional Intelligence with the social awareness of managing relationships in an organizational environment. Those who possess such skills stand out from the crowd. Possessing emotional and social awareness skills is a sine qua non of most successful leaders.
What are your soft skills and how effective are they?
Cultural and Generational Attunement
Although styles vary across cultures and generations, the basic bedrock of effective behaviors is universal, remaining remarkably consistent across the globe. Success means demonstrating effective behaviors in a style authentic to you while respecting your cultural and generational boundaries.
We help clients integrate effective behaviors while remaining true to their cultural roots. If English is not your first language, let us explore with you how to translate effective behaviors into success while remaining authentic to your native culture. If generational issues present a challenge, let us explore with you how learning effective behaviors can bridge the generational gap.
How can we help you find your authentic style?

Career Resilience
Is your "safe" career actually putting you at greater risk?
It has never been more important to be on top of your game. Careers once thought safe are now facing challenges from technological advances. Studies have estimated that 30% of current jobs will disappear by 2025, while jobs in new technologies will spring up to take their place. This is the paradox of the modern workplace.
Influenced by the insights of Nassim Nicholas Taleb, in his book, ANTIFRAGILE, this coaching program explores the concept of moving your career from the fragile to the robust – which is more resistant to changes – and ultimately to a state where you will benefit from uncertainty.
Our world has never been so linked socially, economically, or culturally. This complexity makes the consequences of a single action often impossible to predict. Think of videos that have gone viral, or transformative technologies that seem to spring up overnight. Virtually unheard of just five years ago, ‘disrupter’ is the new buzz word.
At the nexus of the social, economic and culture lie our careers, and by implication our lives. How can you look at your life and career through the prism of the ANTIFRAGILE? What changes can you make to move out of the danger zone of fragility into the relative safety of the robust, while leaving yourself open to benefit from randomness and volatility?
“If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.”
Navigating the Future
You've got the job you love. Now how do you stay ‘ahead of the curve’?
Increasing complexity is a product of our modern world, acting as a headwind affecting every person on the planet. Nothing remains unchanged for long. As technology creates more options, our human capacity to navigate this complexity and the accompanying ambiguity is becoming strained.
Imagine that your role requires you to embrace a new technology or discipline - what new leadership skills might you need? How do you balance priorities and evaluate your options?
As thought partners, THE CADNUM GROUP can help you simplify complex decisions.

Advisory
When making big decisions, most of us seek a trusted confidant. But what happens when those to whom you might turn are too involved themselves? Your spouse doesn’t really understand, you don’t feel comfortable sharing with your best friend, and your colleagues have their own agendas. Who can you confide in?
Our advisory work is based the bedrock of practical experience, the kind of understanding that comes from doing. No theories. No fluff. There is no substitute for skilled questioning to help you explore angles you may not see, offer insights you may have missed, or just to play the devil’s advocate in challenging your assumptions. You may just need someone to listen. The result will be a decision you’ll feel more confident in.
What decisions can we help you with?
